Test-score validity checker
“Will my TOEFL still count when I actually submit — or when I enrol?” Enter the exam date and the deadline your school applies its rule to. You get a yes/no, the days of buffer left, and the latest date to retake so a fresh score lands in time.

How to read the result
Two different deadlines. Most schools only require the score to be valid on the day you submit; a minority — visa-linked UK routes and several Hong Kong / Singapore programmes — require validity through enrolment. The select box switches between the two.
Retake window. “Retake by” subtracts the provider’s typical score-reporting delay from your validity point, so the replacement score exists before the deadline. Retaking earlier is always safer; scores can also arrive late in peak season.
Defaults vs school rules. The default months come from each provider’s published policy, shown with its source and a verification date. If your programme states a shorter window (some require 18 months, or validity at enrolment), type the school’s months into the override — that input wins, and the page marks it as a manual entry.
Questions people ask
Where do the default validity periods come from?
From each provider's official policy (ETS TOEFL/GRE 2 and 5 years, GMAC 5 years, Duolingo 2 years), labelled with source and verification date. SAT/ACT have no official expiry — the 5-year convention is reference only.
Should the validity point be submission or enrolment?
Check the school: most programmes only need the score valid at submission; some (notably Commonwealth visa routes and certain HK/SG programmes) require validity through enrolment. When unsure, pick enrolment — it is the safer rule.
What if my school's stated validity differs from the default?
Enter the school's required months in the override field — the page labels it as your manual input, and the school's official wording stays authoritative.
